The case is of rare triple-layer form and double-clasped design, being of very good quality throughout. Condition is good used, with a few knocks and dents evident to the exterior and some minor wear to the internal gilding in places. Both clasps work as intended, with the hinges operating smoothly. The case is engraved with Newmarracarra to one face and the signature WMKG for Walter McKenzie Grant to the other, being hallmarked in several places throughout. A very unusual and fine piece of antique sterling silver with Australian pastoral provenance.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eContained, the case measures 8.5cm x 7.5cm and is 2.5cm thick.
