Here today for your consideration we have this fantastic Victorian solid 15ct yellow gold combination retractable pencil and dip pen, made by James Fenton of Birmingham, c-1888. The pencil features a high-carat gold washed sheath with repeating bright cut pattern with an agate-set top and chatelaine loop, being of very good quality throughout. Condition is good used, with no major damage to note. The pencil features a well executed monogram to the cartouche, with the hallmarks well struck to the sheath. A thoroughly lovely 19th century solid gold combination pencil for the collector of writing implements.
The pencil has a central diameter of 8.5mm and measures 6cm closed (with chatelaine loop folded down) and 12.5cm long with the pencil extended. Unpacked, it weighs in at a very respectable 18.08gms.
