Here today for your consideration we have this fantastic antique sterling silver sugar bowl, made by Tuck Chang & Co of Shanghai, c-1905. The bowl is of melon shape with finely hammered bulbous panels, bearing bamboo-design handles and finishing with gilt interior. The quality is very good, both in design and gauge. Condition is reasonably good used, though there is some evidence of (likely) salt corrosion evident near the rim (a dedicated buff and polish may enhance presentation). The bowl features a later presentation near the rim, with the hallmarks in good order to the base. A most attractive Chinese export silver bowl from arguably Shanghai's most reputable silver firm.
The bowl measures 17.5cm x 10.5cm and stands 8cm tall. Unpacked, it weighs in at 247gms.
