Here today for your consideration we have this superb Edwardian sterling silver presentation trophy cup, dated July 1908 and made by Gorham of America. This beautiful piece features three evenly spaced handles attached to an egg-shaped body, standing atop of simple un-weighted plinth base. The interior has the most brilliant gilding, a high percentage of which is still retained. Condition is good used, with damage limited to one or two minuscule pinpricks. The trophy has only had a light polish, with respect to the patina. The base is fully marked for Gorham, and is full sterling silver (no weighting in the base). A very attractive trophy cup for the collection.
The trophy stands 10.5cm tall and has a diameter of 6cm at the rim. Unpacked, it weighs in at a respectable 118gms.
