Here today for your consideration we have this superb and large fourteen (14) place, sixty-six (66) piece solid 800 silver cutlery service, made by Wilhelm Müller of Germany, c-1920's. This wonderful set includes the following:
Fourteen dinner knives (silver handles, chrome-plated steel blades) - 25.5cm long.
Fourteen butter spreaders/knives - 22cm long
Fourteen dinner forks - 22cm long
Fourteen soup or large dessert spoons - 21.5cm long
Two large serving spoons - 27cm long
Eight other serving pieces - 13cm - 28.5cm long
Condition is good used throughout, with no major damage to note. The knife blades are in reasonably good condition, with some minor pitting starting to form (nothing too serious). There is a small amount of movement between the handle and tines of the carving fork, mentioned only for accuracy. Each piece is identically monogrammed to the face and hallmarked to the reverse. A very fine and large set for the collection.
Unpacked, the set has a generous total combined weight of 4.45kgs (143 tr.oz). The weighable silver (excluding dinner knives and carving fork) accounts for 3.12kgs (100 tr.oz) of this.
