Here today for your consideration we have this fabulous Art Deco solid 9ct yellow gold bar brooch, made by Ward Brothers of Chester, c-1922. The brooch features a central round-cut aquamarine paste stone with adjoining spider guarding a ruby paste stone against a plain bar, being of very good quality throughout. Condition is good used, with no major damage to note (some minor abrasion to the gold bar in places, nothing too serious). The gilt metal pin holds good tension within the catch, with the brooch fully hallmarked to the side of the bar and touch-marked to the setting. A delightful early 20th century English insect brooch in solid yellow gold.
The blue stone has a diameter of 4mm, with the bar measuring 56mm long. Unpacked, it weighs in at 2.19gms.
