Here today for your consideration we have this rare large set of early Art Deco sterling silver plaques, made by Fattorini & Sons Ltd of Birmingham, c-1924. This fascinating set is oval form with botanical wreath borders including laurel, English oak and possibly a type of gum, intertwined with scroll and ribbon detail. The wreaths are identical, with the internal subject matter representing both swimming and rowing in very good detail. Condition is reasonably good used, with no major damage or losses to note. The finish of the silver is deliberately matte and is relatively coarse compared to the finish of a tray or teapot, for example. The set was produced to be installed, with discrete nail holes incorporated within the design and a rough cast reverse to each. The set is free from monogram or crest, with the hallmarks well struck. A very nice early 20th century set of sterling silver plaques for the collection.

Each plaque measures 26.5cm x 19.5cm, with the set weighing in at an impressive 494gms unpacked.

A photo above includes the set against a full-sized bottle of champagne. This prop is to show the impressive scale of the set, and is not included with the purchase.
