Here today for your consideration we have this superb Art Deco presentation salver, made by Goldsmiths & Silversmiths Co Ltd of London, c-1937. This beautiful piece was presented by the Auxiliary Territorial Service (A.T.S), who were the women's branch of the army in the second world war. The salver takes on a simple truncated square form, having four tri-stepped feet and a complementary border. Condition is good used, with no major structural damage to note. The face has a few stubborn black dots and a couple of cup marks, which should buff out with a rigorous polish. The presentation is beautifully inscribed, and the hallmarks are crisp and clear, with the salver having additional retailer marks also. A very nice and practical piece of war time silver for the collector.
The salver measures about 25cm square and stands about 1cm tall. Unpacked, it has a very generous weight of 672gms.
