Here today for your consideration we have this fantastic Art Deco sterling silver cigarette case, made by R N Hollings & Co of Sheffield, c-1944. The case is of rounded rectangular shape with engine-turned detail to both covers and brightly gilt interior, being of very good quality and gauge throughout. Condition is good used, with no major damage to note (a dedicated clean may enhance presentation). The case features a well executed monogram to the cartouche and a nicely inscribed presentation to the interior, with the hallmarks about 90% overall. The cigarette-holding spring is as-new, with the hinge and clasp working as intended. The original retailers box is shabby but complete, and a rare find for a case of this vintage. A practical mid century English sterling silver case for cigarettes or cards.
The case measures 10cm x 8.5cm and weighs in at a respectable 136gms (not including the retailer's box).
