Here today for your consideration we have this incredible Charles II period sterling silver footed tray or salver, attributed to Daniel Beverley of London, c-1679. The piece is of traditional 17th century design with twisted rope edge and splayed feet, being of very good quality and gauge throughout. Condition is reasonably good, with a few shallow depressions to the centre and some evidence of old repairs in some places, mostly visible from underneath. The salver was likely a presentation tazza in its first iteration, with some attachment marks showing underneath. The hallmarks which were top-struck are near worn, but the impression they've left to the underside have made it possible to accurately date the salver, with the attributed maker being seen to have made similar examples from around the same time. The tray sits flat, with the centre featuring a well executed crest, likely added in the early 19th century. A fine and rare surviving example of 17th century sterling silver.
The tray has a diameter of 19.5cm at the rim and weighs in at 206gms unpacked.
