Here today for your consideration we have this beautiful Edwardian solid 15ct yellow gold double bar brooch, made by Robert Rollason of Sydney, c-1900. The brooch features a cushion-cut natural amethyst above a seed pearl-studded crescent having applied rope and swirl embellishments, being of very good quality throughout. Condition is fairly good used, with the ball ends being squashed (per photos). The brooch features two base loops for suspending chain, with a central third missing below the seed pearl assembly. The pin holds good tension within the catch, with the hallmarks in fairly good order. A very appealing turn of the century Australian gold brooch for the collector.
The amethyst measures 9mm x 7.5mm and has an estimated weight of 2.36cts, with the brooch measuring 54mm long and weighing in at 5.49gms unpacked.
