Here today for your consideration we have this fantastic Edwardian sterling silver tea caddy, made by Thomas Hayes of Birmingham, c-1900. The caddy is of oval form with hinged lid, having full repousse detailing of aquatic theme with cherub detailing, finishing in gadrooned borders. The quality is very good throughout, both in design and construction, with the hinged tension-set lid and gilt interior to note. Condition is good used, with no major damage to note (a couple of shallow depressions to the body, nothing too serious). The caddy is free from monogram or crest, with the hallmarks fading to the body. A most attractive turn of the century English sterling silver caddy for the collection.
The piece measures 9.5cm x 8cm at the base and stands 9cm tall. Unpacked, it weighs in at 190gms.
