Here today for your consideration we have this lovely Edwardian solid 9ct yellow gold convertible pendant brooch, made by Willis & Sons of Melbourne, c-1900. The piece features five round cut and three oval cut natural amethyst with a total of thirteen seed pearls (including one in the bail), being of very good quality throughout. Condition is good used, with no major damage to note. The pin is a little slack but holds within the catch, with the brooch hallmarked to one of the side bars. The bail folds behind when being worn as a brooch, and can even be removed altogether which adds to the versatility of this piece. A most beautiful turn of the century Australian gold convertible pendant brooch for the collection.
The oval amethyst measure 7mm x 5mm with the stones having an estimated total weight of 1.98cts. When worn as a pendant, the piece measure 40mm x 30mm, and weighs in at 3.80gms unpacked.
