Here today for your consideration we have this beautiful Edwardian sterling silver sugar basket, made by William Comyns & Sons of London, c-1908. The basket features rope patterning with bird and floral decoration with original fitted blue glass liner, being of very good quality and gauge throughout. Condition is good used, with no chips or cracks to the glass, and no losses to the silver. The basket does show some solder marks in places, and would benefit from a dedicated polish should the new custodian desire. The piece is free from monogram or crest, with the hallmarks about 80% overall. An attractive early 20th century sterling silver sugar basket very much in the Georgian style.
Handle raised, the bowl stands 12cm tall and has a diameter of 7cm at the rim. Unpacked, it weighs in at 207gms, with the silver accounting for 100gms of this weight.
