Here today for your consideration we have this superb Edwardian sterling silver swing handle basket, made by Stewart Dawson & Co Ltd of Chester, c-1911. This lovely piece stands atop a plinth base and takes quite a simple form throughout, having few embellishments. Condition is good used, with the bowl having a several black spots to the top finish (buffing or vigorous polishing would improve presentation). There are a couple of bruises to the bowl also, but these are well disguised in the inverted spherical shape of the bowl. The hallmarks are crisp and clear, featuring on both the handle and bowl. A nice and practical piece for the home.
The bowl stands 18cm tall to the top of the handle, 6cm tall to the rim and has a diameter of about 21cm. Unpacked, it weighs in at a respectable 366gms.
