Here today for your consideration we have this very nice Edwardian sterling silver sugar caster, made by Henry Matthews of Birmingham, c-1913. This large piece stands atop a round plinth base and rises to a bulbous lower section before tapering hexagonally to the rim. The topper is elegantly pierced, terminating in a pointed finial. Condition is good used through, with damage limited to some superficial scratching and some minor depressions (nothing too serious). Both the top and base is hallmarked, and the caster is free from monogram or crest. A very nice piece for the collection.
The caster stands 19cm tall and has a maximum diameter of about 7cm. Unpacked, it weighs in at a respectable 154gms.
