Here today for your consideration we have this superb Edwardian five-piece sterling silver christening set, made by several quality London silversmiths, c-1900-1903. The set includes a large christening mug, napkin ring, spoon, fork and knife with silver handle and blade, each having matching design decoration and being of the same exceptional quality. Condition is good used, with no major damage to note. The mug features a dedication to the rim, with all other pieces free from monogram or crest. The Carrington & Co retailer box is in reasonably good order, though the clasp does not latch. A most impressive and high quality set of London silver from the turn of the century.
The mug stands 10.5cm tall and has a diameter of 7cm at the rim, with the knife, fork and spoon measuring 20.5cm, 15.5cm and 15.5cm long respectively. The silver pieces unboxed weigh in at an impressive 353gms, with the boxed set having a total weight of 866gms.
