Here today for your consideration we have this beautiful Edwardian solid 9ct yellow gold brooch, made by Francis Alfred Flint of Hobart, c-1900. The brooch features a cushion, almost octagonal cabochon-cut banded agate in a toothed bezel setting, being of quality throughout. Condition is good used, with no major damage to note (a discrete and superficial scratch to the face of the stone, per photos). The pin holds good tension within the catch, with provision for a safety chain or bail to the centre top. A fine example of an early 20th century Australian solid gold brooch for the collection.
The brooch measures 31mm x 19mm across the face, with the stone estimated with low confidence to be around 16cts. Unpacked, it weighs in at 8.00gms.
