Here today for your consideration we have this superb Edwardian solid 15ct yellow gold bar brooch, being of folded-corner design with blue and white gypsy-set sapphires, c-1900. The brooch is of large proportion and very good gauge, being of high quality construction. Condition is good used, with the middle stone having a small amount of movement and a small and discrete pinprick to the centre gypsy-setting visible only when the light shines through (per photos). The pin holds very good tension in the catch, with the brooch hallmarked to the reverse (likely of Australian manufacture). A most excellent large solid gold brooch for the discerning collector.
The sapphires measures 3mm and 6mm and have a total combined estimated weight of 1.00ct. The brooch measures 51mm x 13mm across the face, weighing in at a substantial 9.75gms unpacked.
