Here today for your consideration we have this fantastic Edwardian solid 9ct yellow gold photo locket, made by Albert Edward Jones of Birmingham, c-1915. The locket is of truncated rectangle design with brightwork to both covers, being of very good quality throughout. The locket is inscribed with the initials SAD to the front cover, with a heartfelt message to the verso which reads:
Presented TO S.A.DAVIS By his Fellow Employees As A MARK OF ESTEEM On his leaving for the Front 13.8.15
Condition is good used, with no major damage to note. The inscription remains in good order, with the hallmarks visible to the rear cover. The locket snaps shut nicely, with one internal frame remaining. A most beautiful and thoughtful gift in solid gold for a courageous serviceman.
The locket (excluding jump ring) measures 32mm x 22mm and weighs in at 4.13gms unpacked.
