Here today for your consideration we have this pair of beautiful Georgian sterling silver salt cellars, made in London in the second half of the 18th century (possibly Samuel Meriton or Elizabeth Muns). This wonderful set features multi-stepped footed bases and a typical cauldron body, having nicely cut detail throughout and remnant gilding to the interiors. Condition is fair used, with the set having some salt corrosion throughout and a few depressions evident. One facing on each has a cartouche with remnants of a family crest, with the hallmarks to the base of each in poor condition (barely legible). A charming and original set of salt cellars for the collection.

Each cellar stands 3.5cm tall and has an overall diameter of 6cm. Unpacked, the set weighs in at 87gms.
