Here today for your consideration we have this fantastic Georgian sterling silver sugar basket, made by Charles Chesterham II of London who was active between c-1785 and c-1796. The basket is of pierced and pressed design with rope-edge rims and double helix handle, being of good quality and gauge throughout. Condition is good used, with a few early repairs and losses to the basket evident (per photos). The blue glass liner is nicely fitted to the base, with the handle swinging freely. The bowl is free from monogram or crest, with the hallmarks about 70% overall (no date letter evident; possibly lost during a repair). A beautiful 18th century English sterling silver sugar basket for the collection.

The bowl stands 9cm tall (to the rim) and has a diameter of 8cm across the top. Unpacked, it weighs in at a total of 227gms, with the silver accounting for 79gms of this.
