Here today for your consideration we have this superb Georgian sterling silver teapot, made by Joseph Hicks of Exeter, c-1802. The pot is of oval form with bright cut decoration and wooden handle with unusual pineapple-form finial, being of good quality and gauge throughout. Condition is good used, with a few minor bumps here and there and an early solder repair evident near the top (per photos). The pot features a well executed crest to one side, with the other vacant. The handle is tight to the body, with the finial having a couple of fractures but holding together well. The spout is a little contorted, yet the teapot pours slow and steady. A fine and rare early 19th century Exeter teapot for the collection.
The pot stands 17cm tall and measures 28cm handle-to-spout. It has a comfortable capacity of 1,300mls and weighs in at 494gms unpacked
