Here today for your consideration we have wonderful Georgian pair of sterling silver and cobalt blue glass salt cellars, made by John Shea of London, c-1811. Each piece features a plinth based expanding and terminating with a shell themed rim, being free of monogram or crest. The gauge and quality of this set is superb throughout, with the silver having a few minor depressions and a pinprick throughout. The blue glass liners are in good order, each having a couple of nibbles to the rim but nothing too serious. Each piece is free from monogram or crest, with the hallmarks being about 70% overall. A very attractive set of salts for the collection.
Each piece stands 3cm tall and measures 10.5cm x 8cm at the rim. Unpacked, the set weighs in at 402gms with the sterling silver accounting for 227gms of this.
