Here today for your consideration we have this beautiful Georgian vinaigrette, made by Matthew Linwood of Birmingham, c-1817. The vinaigrette is of oval design with bright cut detail to the exterior, being of very good quality throughout. Internally, a hinged grille reveals an early (possibly original) sponge still fragrant with perfume. Condition is good used, with no major damage to note (possible early patched repair to lid, per photos). The vinaigrette is free from monogram or crest, with the hallmarks about 80% overall. A really very beautiful early 19th century English silver vinaigrette in an uncommon oval shape, fitted with period-era sponge.
The piece stands 22mm tall and measures 36mm x 24mm across the body. Unpacked, it weighs in at 22gms.
