Here today for your consideration we have this superb early 20th century whiskey decanter, having beautiful sterling silver overlay and stopper. This elegant piece features a four-dimpled body generously covered in bamboo theme overlay, with no two quadrants the same. The neck and spout are relatively simple, with the stopper taking on fan themes with speckled end. Condition is good used, with damage to the bottle limited to a 3mm tight split to the silver rim (refer photos). The stopper will require a new cork (refer photos). The base is fully marked for Hong Kong sterling, with the base of the bottle having registration number. A very fine example of Chinese export silver.
The bottle (including stopper) stands about 27cm tall and measures about 10cm square. Unpacked, it weighs in at 848gms.
