Here today for your consideration we have this superb Victorian solid 9ct gold brooch, featuring a central oval-cut citrine with applied leaf detail, held within a bright-cut gold mount, c-1880. The brooch is in reasonably good used condition, with some loss to one of the applied leaf details (per photos). The reverse of the brooch has an inner ring which has some movement, and was likely part of an original locket. The brooch is without hallmark, but has been tested and is guaranteed to be at least 9ct gold. It is without inscription, with the pin holding good tension within the clasp. A fine and versatile piece for the collection.
The citrine measures 12mm x 8mm and has an estimated weight of 1.87cts, with the brooch measuring 35mm x 28mm across the face. Unpacked, it weighs in at a respectable 8.64gms.
