Here today for your consideration we have this beautiful and rare Victorian sterling silver combination match vesta and photo locket, made by William Neale of Chester, c-1895. The vesta is of relatively plain and unassuming form complete with chain loop to the lid and interior gilding. Condition is good used, with no major structural damage to note (shallow depression to reverse). The gilded interior has some perfume staining from use, per photos. The lid has good tension and holds the case closed tightly, with the lower hinge in good order. The case features a well executed monogram to the face, with the hallmarks well struck to an inner rim. A very fine and unusual vesta case for the collector.
Closed, the case measures 48mm x 35mm and weighs in at 34gms unpacked.
