Here today for your consideration we have this incredible early Victorian sterling silver cutlery set, produced in the popular Fiddle & Thread design and being of very good quality and gauge throughout. The set includes ten dinner forks, ten entree forks, ten dessert spoons, ten teaspoons and two sauce ladles by Charles Lias of London, c-1843. The five table/serving spoons are by Henry Holland of London, c-1847, with the master butter knife by Elizabeth Eaton of London, c-1846. Each piece is identically monogrammed, with the hallmarks well struck and in good order throughout. A substantial and useful set of mid 19th century sterling silver for the table.
The forks measure 21cm and 17.5cm long, with the spoons measuring 22cm, 18cm and 14.5cm long. The ladles measure 19cm long with the butter knife being 21.5cm in length. Unpacked, the set has a generous combined weight of 3,018gms (97 troy ounce).
