Condition is good used, with no major observable damage to note aside from a minor pinprick to one bowl (see photo). With origins starting with William Chawner II in 1815, the firm evolved to Chawner & Co after William’s widow Mary and her son-in-law George William Adams went into production in 1840. The firm is known for exceptional quality in design and execution of flatware and tableware, and was sold to Holland, Aldwinkle & Slater in 1883 before being absorbed into Francis Higgins & Son Ltd in 1922.
