Here today for your consideration we have this beautiful Victorian sterling silver butter knife or letter opener, made by Martin, Hall & Co of Sheffield, c-1884. The knife features a tapering handle with bright cut blade, being of very good quality and gauge throughout. Condition is good used, though there is some disruption to the blade evident. The piece is free from monogram or crest, with the hallmarks about 90% overall. A lovely late 19th century sterling silver knife for the collection.
