Here today for your consideration we have this exquisite Victorian sterling silver oil and vinegar bottle set, made by John Aldwinckle & Thomas Slater of London, c-1886. The set features two faceted glass bottles with acanthus handles and hinged lids, within a fitted oval stand with gadrooned borders and half-fluted details, being of very good quality throughout. Condition is good used, with no major damage to note. One lid sits a little proud from the base, per photos, and the original nuts holding the bottle supports have been replaced at some point. The set is free from monogram or crest, with the set hallmarked in several places throughout. A beautiful and useful 19th century bottle set for the collection.
The bottles stand 18cm tall, with the base measuring 27cm x 11.5cm. Unpacked, the set weighs in at 1,121gms, with the base alone weighing in at 445gms.
