Here today for your consideration we have this beautiful Victorian sterling silver fish serving knife and fork set, made by William Batt & Sons (Thomas Nowill Batt) of Sheffield, c-1897. This wonderful set features sterling silver blade and tines with bright cut leaf and flower detail, set within original fitted box. Condition is good used, with no major damage to note. There are a couple of very fine and discrete fractures to the handles, and some mild discolouration to the underside evident. The handles and ferules are free from movement and are firmly attached to the tines and blades. The set is free from monogram or crest, with the hallmarks crisp and clear. The box is a little shabby but functional, with hinge and clasp working as intended. A very nice and understated set for the collection.
The knife and fork measure 28.5cm and 21.5cm long respectively, with the boxed set weighing in at 481gms. The knife and fork account for 189gms of this weight.
