Here today for your consideration we have this fantastic Victorian sterling silver pepper shaker, made by Stokes & Ireland Ltd of Chester, c-1897. The piece is of cylindrical shape and pierced body with tension-set lid and blue glass liner, being of good quality and gauge throughout. Condition is reasonably good used, with no major damage to note (a good polish will enhance presentation). The liner is free from chips or cracks, with the lid sitting firmly to the base. The piece is free from monogram or crest, with the hallmarks about 80% overall. A nice turn of the century English sterling silver pepperette to add to the collection.
The piece stands 5cm tall and has a diameter of 2.5cm at the base. It has a total weight of 33gms, with the silver body and lid contributing 15gms of this.
