Here today for your consideration we have this superb Victorian sterling silver thirty-six piece cutlery set, made by Chawner & Co under the direction of George William Adams of London, c-1867-1870. This wonderful set has been produced in the seldom seen Princess design (a variation of the Albert design) and is of exceptional quality and gauge throughout. The set includes eight dinner forks, eight entrée forks, eight table/soup spoons, eight dessert spoons and four teaspoons. Condition is good used, with no major damage to note. Each piece is free from monogram or crest, with the hallmarks clearly presented throughout. A very good and useful set from one of the best 19th century flatware makers.
The forks measure 21cm and 18cm long, with the spoons measuring 22cm, 18cm and 15cm long. Unpacked, the set weighs in at a very respectable 2,558gms.
