Here today for your consideration we have this sensational Victorian sterling silver forty-eight (48) piece cutlery set, to include twelve (12) each of table/soup spoons, dessert spoons, dinner forks and entree/dessert forks. The set has been produced in the popular Fiddle, Thread & Shell design, being of exceptional quality and gauge throughout. The set features a matching crest to each piece, with the following breakdown of London makers:

Tablespoon (3) - Chawner & Co, 1840
Tablespoon (8) - Chawner & Co, 1841
Dessert spoon (1) - Mary Chawner, 1836
Dessert spoon (2) - Chawner & Co, 1840
Dessert spoon (5) - Chawner & Co, 1841
Dessert spoon (4) - Elizabeth Eaton, 1847
Dinner fork (12) - Chawner & Co, 1841
Entree fork (6) - Chawner & Co, 1841
Entree fork (5) - William Eaton, 1845

Condition is good used throughout, with minimal wear to the fork tines and no major damage evident to the spoon bowls. There is very minor variation in size between the makers, with the crest and hallmarks in reasonable good order throughout (some better than others). A very good quality set of 19th century English sterling silver for the collection.
The spoons measure approximately 22.5cm and 18cm long, with the forks measuring approximately 20.5cm and 17.5cm in length. Unpacked, the set weighs in at an impressive 3,811gms (122.5 troy ounce).
