Here today for your consideration we have this beautiful Victorian solid 9ct yellow gold brooch, featuring an oval bevelled onyx set with pietra dura micro mosaic, c-1890. The mosaic features a bunch of intricately detailed flowers, with impressive cuts and colours throughout. Condition is fair used, with a 1.5mm (approx) chip to the onyx as well as some abrasion to the face and a few small losses from the mosaic. The gold frame has some minor distortion, with one of the four supporting balls separated from the outer frame. The brooch is hallmarked to the reverse, with a loop present to add a safety pin if desired. A very beautiful late 19th century gold pietra dura brooch for the collection.
