Here today for your consideration we have this superb Victorian solid 15ct yellow gold brooch, made by J R Rowland of Melbourne, c-1890. The brooch is of three leaf clover design and features a total of four lapis lazuli cabochons, accented by three graduating seed pearls. Condition is good used, with no damage to the stones or gold to note. The pin is securely held within the catch, with the brooch hallmarked for the maker to the reverse (no purity mark; tested and guaranteed 15ct throughout with metal pin). A stunning 19th century Australian gold brooch for the fastidious collector.
The three leaf cabochons measure 13mm x 7mm with the total weight of the lapis lazuli estimated at 5.65cts. The brooch measures 32mm x 29mm across the face and weighs in at 3.94gms unpacked.
