Here today for your consideration we have this fabulous vintage solid 9ct yellow gold bar brooch, featuring a black opal doublet cabochon, c-1950's. The opal features plenty of colour play throughout, with the gold bar tapering and bright cut with a predominately matte finish. Condition is reasonably good used, with no damage to the gold to note. The cabochon has been repaired at some point (per photos), but this is not easily spotted due to the generous colour flashes of the stone. A beautiful mid 20th century solid gold brooch for the collector.
The cabochon measures 16mm x 12mm and has an estimated weight of 2.19cts. The brooch measures 51mm long and weighs in at 4.91gms unpacked.
