Here today for your consideration we have this lovely Art Deco glass powder jar, having sterling silver mount and lid by J Gloster Ltd of Birmingham, c-1925. The jar is of squat form with rounded glass body and understated silver detailing, being of good quality and gauge throughout. Condition is reasonably good used, with no chips or cracks to the glass. The finial has some denting, with the silver mount having a couple of minor depressions also. The silver is free from monogram or crest, with the hallmarks about 80% overall. A large and useful early 20th century English silver mounted powder jar for the dressing table.
The piece stands 8cm tall and has an overall diameter of 14cm. Unpacked, it weighs in at 360gms (with just the lid accounting for 42gms of this).
