Here today for your consideration we have this beautiful set of vintage sterling silver red wine coasters or pillar candle holders, made by Deakin & Francis of Birmingham, c-1950 and retailed by Walker & Hall of Sheffield. The set is of Victorian styling with wraparound repousse detail and frilled rims with matte interiors, being of very good quality and gauge throughout. Condition is good used, with evidence of a repair to one small section of a frilly rim (per photos). The set is free from monogram or crest, with the hallmarks about 80% overall. A most attractive and versatile set of mid-century English sterling silver holders for the collection.
Each coaster stands 7cm tall and has a diameter of 11.5cm at the rim. The coasters will take a bottle or candle with a diameter of up to 8cm. Unpacked, the set weighs in at 338gms.
