Here today for your consideration we have this lovely vintage solid 9ct yellow gold brooch, made by Deakin & Francis of Birmingham, c-1975. The brooch is of pentagonal form and features six round and oval cut vibrant citrine stones and five natural pearls to the tips. The brooch is of very nice quality throughout, with no major condition issues to note. The gemstones are of strong colour and are without table or structural damage, with the pearls maintaining excellent lustre. The gold has been washed in a high carat to give the appearance of 18 or even 22ct gold, which is a common feature of luxury jewellery from the 20th century. The gold pin is securely held within the catch, with the hallmarks in good order. A most attractive vintage brooch from a high quality English jeweller.
The oval stones measure 8mm x 6mm with the citrine stones having a total estimated weight of 5.62cts, with the brooch measuring 30mm x 30mm overall. Unpacked, it weighs in at 6.72gms.
